Each Day

There are few more emotionally cleansing, yet inspirational enriching activities than writing. The written word is the gateway to perspective,to reason, to the answers within. My Daughters passing is by far the most horrific, emotionally draining event that I have ever experienced. A more personally devastating event I can't even begin to imagine. And in my disillusioned and saddened state that first week, I searched for answers...for something to alleviate the pain. What I didn't know was, the family coming together, planning Roxanne's memorial from composing the Eulogy, to picking out the music, to every aspect of managing her final farewell, it set the stage for the healing to begin. I now understand why people have wakes, and funerals, and memorials. Its a necessary exercise for those left behind. None of us knows the volume of sand remaining in the hourglass of our lives. Now more than ever Roxannes short life teaches us to appreciate time. Now more than ever she teaches us to appreciate the people we spend it with. I urge you to seek out your loved ones and friends that are near and dear. Hug them, call them, text them, let them know how much you care. God Bless...
